Detecting DTMF tones over Cisco Unified communications manager V 7.1.3

I have a scenario where the Metecom calls the Cisco SIP extensions using the Cisco Call Manager. Now the client wants to open the door based on the user pressing the '*' key,etc(DTMF tones) fromt the Cisco IP phone. I have integrated the AMX SIP panels, Metecom Door entry with the Cisco Call manager without using an AMX SIP gateway (CSG) but the SIP functions dont have option to detect DTMF tones. Any suggestions?

    I always wanted to work on this but was never able to find the time to really get into it and make anything work. I still got all this crap wired and sitting on the shelf but I've since let my Cisco cert lapse. I think I was planning on setting up a server on the master and setting a prgrammable button on the phones to the servers URL : port with a simple get command of my own creation to work with the server of my creation. It seems such a long time ago but that's my recollection of how I wanted to do it. Whether it would have worked or not is another story.
