Zigbee gateway device number – static or dynamic?

When configuring the Netinx Settings for a Zigbee gateway should we accept the dynamic device number (the 32000 range) that is assigned to the gateway when it connects to a Netlinx master via the system number or should we assign a static device number? Both seem to work.

If we should set the device number where should we start? The standard device number for the first TP is 10001. Is there a standard device number for the first gateway?

Thanks.

I think you don't want to leave it up there. I use 501:01:0 and go from there myself.

I start at 20001 cuz that's where I saw it set in a demo or something.

I assign a static number starting at 15000 so that I can track their online/offline status in code. Other than that its probably six of one.

I also use 20001 as I saw that number used semi-offically elsewhere.

    I start the R4s at 11001.

I start my R4s at 10601, so I start my gateways at 601.

It makes it easy to quickly tell which R4 is connected to which gateway and to easily tell if gateways are offline.
