How to control a 232 cameras with the NXP-PLV with the joystick

I have found examples of how to use this device with the pan tilt head, but I have not seen any examples of how to control a rs232 camera with the joystick. I am using a Sony Camera with a duet module. Anyone have any example cod eon how to use the joystick to control a 232 cameras. Any help would be great.

If I am not mistaken, the joystick is just generating level events similar to if you put joystick buttons on the touch screen. I just downloaded the Operation Reference Guide for this part from the AMX website and it gives you details on the levels and channels. The buttons on the left side of the screen appear to be assignable in TPD4. The joystick and other buttons seem to be fixed on port 1.

    Hope this helps,

I was gonna say that I don't think the Sony camera has any discrete pan/tilt/zoom/iris settings via their rs232 codes. The commands are essentially 'start moving' and 'stop moving'

So any use of a joystick is going to be 'any movement' equals 'start moving the cam' and 'return to zero' or 'let goof joystick' equals 'stop moving cam'

I've put joystic controls on Sony Cams for a long time as they just seem to make sense to people.
