Problem in adding a generic RS-232 device to the system

Hello forum members,
We are facing problem in adding an RS-232 device to the system. As for the time being if we use VA there is a device database available that includes the jar files to properly communicate with the third party devices available in the DB. The issue is that we have to include a fire alarm system in the BMS and what we have to do is to parse the string coming to us from the device on RS-232 and display it in a multi-line text box or say list.
We need help in this regard how to add this device and how to display the strings coming from the device to the text box on TP.
