Online repeating messages

Hi all

I am having a strange problem

I have a big system, 12 controllers and about 17 TP

There is central controller that doing url list of all the others.

In this controller that manage the house navigation for the TPs, I am listening to online event from the TP list on specific port (20)

From few TP's, I am getting non stop online messages every few seconds (around 20 sec+-) for all the channels on that port (CPIpEvent:Online)

All the TP's that are making the problems are coming from the same controller, so I geuess the problme is between the controllers.

But everything is working good, beside that notification every this is ok.
the problem is that this notification is managing the start up of the TP

I can move it, but its some work that need to be distributed in all the systems, and it used to work in the past.

Any idea?

Thanks,

Ady.

I'd double check you don't have any circular routing going on, and that all your IP addresses are unique.

I'm personally more comfortable with distributing the M2M connections ... it seems to take a lot of resources to connect. I have a system with 8 masters and about a dozen panels that has been running for years just fine, but when I made some adjustments just yesterday, it wouldn't boot up. It would connect to everything, start loading the modules, then all the remote systems would drop off line. When I cleared the URL list on the main master, and moved it to one of the secondaries that was far less busy, my problem went away.

    I have no idea what is M2M .... :(
I guess its master to master but how do you connect all to a central controller?

I will try to move the URL list to another controller, good idea, thanks.
  • Try calling tech support. I had a similar issue and they sent me a hot fix for the firmware.

This is a harmless but really annoying reportage of Master to Master (M2M) connection. More masters, more "checking in". It started happening with a firmware of about 2 years ago, they do indeed have a new unofficial firmware we've used a lot and find without new flaws that ends this running report.

You can ignore it forever if it isn't in your way for how you use telnet. Or get the new firmware.

Two things: most often, I'll make a secondary master that doesn't have a lot to do normally manage the connections and put all the URLs in that one. That's how I resolved the issue in my first post. Another thing that I have done is make all the remote masters check in to the main master. That way, each master only has one device in it's URL list, and that's all any of them are worrying about. The only downside is that the remotes won't be able to talk to each other if the "main" one goes down or off line. They way I set M2M systems up, it's not an issue, but if you need cross-master connections, you will have to vary it.

    I am not sure I can change it this way, I need to talk with some masters to some masters;

I have a master for security, master for navigation maps, master for electricity, master for music distribution and so on... so the communication is between all of them.

I need to move the url list, didh't try it yet - the online offline message come and goes. I will try to call support today.
