Programming of Softkey via Axcess

Hi!

I?m a newbie in programming AMX, trying to learn the Axcess code...

I?ve purchased two units of Softkey (TX-SK+) and a Axcent2.
Now, I?m searching for more informations about programming the TX-SK+ via Axcess/NetLinx.
I did build a cable to program this units via COM (tested with SKDesign).

How can I program it via Axcess or NetLinx?
I only found this: http://www.amx.de/faq/Hardware%20FAQs/softkey.htm
Is there any instruction about connecting for download?
How can I upload IR codes or IR files?
In the manual of the Softkey, I read about a possibility to use the COM port as an output.
Does anybody tried this? How should I tell the Softkey to send on COM?

Many thanks.
Greetings from Germany.
Oliver

Okay, did you purchase the RF reciever with this unit?
  • It's years ago that I did Softkey programming from scratch, but some months ago I tried to download ab existing Softkey program with Studio, and I had no success, Studio has not detected the Softkey as master. I had to use AXcessX to download.
  • Hi Thomas,

I did not purchase a RF receiver yet. They always bid me out... :D

I just started to collect all the parts for a complete running system.

I know about the different possible frequencies of the receivers and the transmitters.
    That?s no problem, I couldn?t solve.

Until I?ve got all the parts, I?d like to learn a little bit more about the programming.
I?ve got some experience in programming the others (Cr...), but the AMX stuff is new for me.

If I did read it right, the softkey can be used like an programmable universal remote, sending out an IR signal, I can define.
How can I download the program and the IR files?

    I?ve got two Softkey units.
I?d like to use one to control any device via the COM port on the softkey (the 1/10 inch socket).

    Quoted from the softkey manual:
    RS-232 master/control port
The RS-232 Master/Control port pushbutton (Figure 12) sets the RS-232
Master/Control port on the TX-SK+. Set the port to ENABLED to upload or
download AXCESS programs via a PC-to-AMX programming cable connection. Set
the port to DISABLED to transmit RS-232-control signals.
    Does anybody tried this?

    Many thanks.
