Gefen Switcher Issue

I have a GefenTV 4x1 HD switcher with audio decoding. I am trying to control via RS232, but it keeps giving me error. I looked at the protocol online and it seems that I have it correct. from what I read it is just "'HDMI 10', 13,10". I have posted my diagnostics and what i am recieving back below. The help would be greatly appreciated as I have 2 of these things I have to install this week.

Line 2 (20:06:55):: String To [5001:5:1]-[HDMI 10$0D$0A]
Line 3 (20:06:55):: String From [5001:5:1]-[HDMI 10$0D$0A]
Line 5 (20:06:55):: String From [5001:5:1]-[NG$0D$0AError 4 :$FEDMI$0D$0A]

Below is what it sends me when I change it with the remote:

Line 16 (20:07:13):: String From [5001:5:1]-[> HDMI 10$0D$0A]

    The manual I just found on the Gefen TV website indicates that the parameters for the HDMI command are 1, 2, 3 and 4 for the inputs and it responds with 10, 20, 30 and 40 respectively.

    I also tried that, but it gives me the same message except with a 4 instead of 5
