Met-Ecom project

Hi guys,

we're working on a project with this configuration:
- 8 apartments in a building, each apartment with it's own AMX system (controller, touch panels, etc);
- one entrance to be equipped with videointercom systems;

What is the sollution to be installed here, but not installing 8 different MET-ECOMs?
Is there any other compatible videointercom door unit?

Thank you!

Cristi

    Could just put 1 X panel in the entrance if it's a dry location. That way you could ring the apartment you want from the TP and then have X panel to X panel voice and video assuming the interior panels are also x seriies or the apartments could just use i type TPs if you don't need 2-way video.

    Is there a processor dedicated as a central hub for the building? I'm thinking a panel with 8 buttons (one for each apartment) next to the MET-ECOM tied to I/Os on an NI-3100. This would allow you to create logic on the back end to route the MET-ECOM to the proper apartment.
  • I have only i panel series and I need only one way video - from door to apartments. It's a dry location, but it's outside -15 degrees.

    Burrrrr! That's a bit cold. Well you're probably better off with a single MET-COM then plus one never knows when the X series will even support panel to panel video since I don't believe you can pull the video from one of them yet.

    There was another thread:

    I don't know if this requires a SIP PBX for voice but it might be worth a read.
