Denon DBT-3313UDCI Control (Universal Video/Audio player aka BluRay Disc Player)

Watch out!

Just pulled this thing out of the box, dropped the module I used with the DBP-2012 only to discover it doesn't work. It uses the same control protocol, but the port configuration is different. The DBT-3313 is 9600,E,8,1 and not 9600,N,8,1. Nice.

Also, know that you NEED to turn off the Power Saving feature in the Setup Menu if you wish the unit to respond to commands while it's in Standby (Off) mode. Pesky power-hungry Denon.

And if you need the protocol guide it's here:

If i recall the early Denon DVD players were like that too, like the DVD-2900 and the McIntosh which was the 2900 in a McIntosh style case.

The new ones need power savings turned off as well. Marantz and Denon have converged in the control protocol aspect, they are all the same now. The web and on-screen interfaces look the same too, at least on the receivers.
