Compatibility with unifi phones from Ubiquiti

Hi there,
I bought a unifi phone shown here https://www.ubnt.com/products/#all/voip hoping that it would play well with TPControl. Unfortunately there seems to be a compatibility issue. In the beginning the app installed ok but the phone did an automatic upgrade and then the app will only show "offline mode" and would not upgrade or even show on play store.
I would like to use them on the suites of my hotel since there are AMX touch panels on every entrance and I though it would be neat to offer a second control panel right from the bed.
Could there be a solution?
