    Hmmmm ....

How do you know that \"the cable works fine\"?

Are you using a null modem adapter for the rear port? Has this Soundweb been previously configured to interface with an AMX or Crestron system?

What are the symptoms of not being able to connect? Do you get a port busy message, or does designer just fail to find any devices when you go on line?

The rear port is 115200,8,N,1, pinouts are in your help file, but there are a number of reasons why the rear port would be ignoring your efforts.

Start with the programming cable that came with the Soundweb, connect to the front port at 38400 and make sure that everything is working before you move to the rear port.
  • If your amber Activity LED is flashing regularly at 1 second intervals and you can't connect to the device with Soundweb Designer via the rear port then it's possible that the device you're using is configured for external serial control.

Has this unit recently been hooked up to and AMX / Crestron / 3rd party control system?

If it has then the rear port is configured for external control only and you'll have to plug in to the front port to use Soundweb Designer to configure the unit.

Front port operates at 38400 baud.

    Hope this helps.
