366 to 366T firmware update disaster - dead 366 needs help!

I attempted to load the V2.06 firmware update in to a 366 that is or rather was at a version 1.xx something level. I inadvertantly but successfully reloaded the version 1 firmware on the first attempt so the cabling & hardware seem to be in order. While installing the version 2 firmware the installer application threw up a dialog box that said something along the lines of \" Correct file not found - error 8 \". When attempting to reload the firmware I get only \" device not found - check cables \" responses in the progress window of the firmware loading application. The window of the 366 says only that \" upload failed - reload \" or something to that effect.
This is all running on a computer that has a serial port built in with a cable that successfully archived the programs from the 366 via Soundbench only moments before this firmware misadventure began. What can I do to get this 366 working again promptly?
