9088 (non ii) for HT

Team,
I'm not a sound engineer of any sort and need some help here please.
I'm setting up a large HT room with 7.1 and have purchased a 9088 to handle EQ and crossover duties to the front three speakers which will be biamped.
The front end is a HTPC using an optical drive that can play both Bluray and HD DVD discs.
I want to plug the 8 channels of 'Audio Out' from the HTPC directly into the soundweb. Audio quality is of paramount concern here.
It's been suggested that I use one of these in the HTPC...

Can you please tell me what I need to look at in regards to my 9088 unit in order for this to work?
Can it be done?
I've spent some time reading posts here but can't seem to find a direct answer to what I'm wanting to do. I'm not sure what cards the 9088 has in it either but it would be easy enough to open it and have a look.
Many thanks

If you want to go digital out of the PC into the Soundweb, you just need digital I/O cards for the Soundweb. Retail is about $470 for each card (you'll need 2). Each card provides 4 ch of digital input and 4 ch of digital output. The analog outputs built into the 9088 will also continue to function so you can go analog directly to your amps if the amps don't have digital inputs.

I typed all of the above before I noticed your subject line says \"(non ii)\" in it. Assuming that what you mean by that is that you have a first generation 9088, then there's no way to do digital I/O.
The three variations of the 9088 may be identified by looking at the model number near the bottom left corner of the front face. They are:
9088 = generation 1
9088ii = generation 2
9088iis = generation 3
Only gen2 and gen3 devices can use the digital cards.
There is no way to use digital cards in a gen1 device.

Okay, that's answered my question.
Mine is most certainly a 9088 (non ii) so that rules out digital ins for me. By the way, the amps don't have digital ins either...(5 x EV Q66's & 1 x Crown K2).
Since it's a 7.1 system, I was contemplating buying a BSS 9008 to use as a slave. All of the 8 outputs from the HTPC willl need to be routed through the Soundweb(s) to achieve proper surround and to do that I'll need two Soundweb boxes.
If I buy a 9088ii with digital cards to take the digital inputs from the HTPC, can I plug my existing 9088 into the 9088ii and use it as a slave for the 4 surrounds?
Thanks
Dan
