Newbie Question - Download CURRENT config from 9088iis

Hello All,

I've searched the forums just to make sure I'm not missing this most basic of questions that each of you have probably handled for yourself LONG ago, so forgive me. I've used other brands of DSP processing, but this one stumps me a bit.

I have been asked to make some changes to a large venue with 5 units, unit #1 being a 9088iis. I've connected to the network via RS232 however I can't for the life of me figure out how to grab what has been configured and placed on this unit by the original installer long ago. Everything seems to focus on building a config and uploading. I want to tweak what is there.

Can any of you advise? Many thanks!
Bryan

  • Hi,

Soundweb green requires you to have a design to load onto the network from a PC. No designs are stored on the network that you can download to a control PC. The design is built offline the compiled and uploaded.
The control computer can then be disconnected or left connected with the current design for monitoring purposes.

The only way to modify settings of a design is to go online with a current design file and make your changes.

If you do not have the current design then you will have to create a new design file and reload the network with this new design.

Best practice is for the venue to hold a current design file that can be used for this purpose, otherwise contact the original installers to obtain a copy of the design.

    Cheers

  • Hi Rob,

Thanks so much, I kind-of figured it might be something like that..
Well, there's no better way to know the configuration of a system than to build it, so off we go.

    Thanks again
