Ar 116 but no phantom adaptor

Hi,

Ive recently been given a couple of AR116's that dont have the AR117 option and I'm not hugely keen on running them on battery power. Does anyone have any suggestion as to where I could get hold of the adaptors or a circuit diagram so I could build my own.

Thanks

Charlie

  • The battery is only used when you do not externally provide 48v from the console. if you are not using a console, you can use a off the shelf phantom injector, such as the crown PH1 B.
  • Hi Rob,

Thanks for the reply, Im well aware of how to phantom power devices. However, in the case of AR 116 DIs there were 2 models a 9v and a 48v version, the difference being the AR117 phantom power adaptor which takes the place of one of the batteries and allows the use of phantom power. So a 9v one wont work from 48v phantom whatever the source.
  • I know this is a wild and whacky idea... how about BSS? 1-800-931-2357 or http://www.bssaudio.com/contact_support.php

You'll get a giggle and a whistle if you used Jerome's direct contact form because I think he's out of the office until... Tuesday? Wednesday? I dunno. He went out the door mumbling something about the mud wrestling finals.
