Connecting/disconnecting blu-3

Hi all!
I am designing an application where the client want one part of the system to be portable (a rack on wheels with some WL mics and a CD). It would simplify things greatly if I could put a Blu-3 or Blu-6 controller in the rack as well. This, however, means that the controller will be connected and disconnected in different parts of the building while the soundweb system is running. Will that cause me any troubles or can I safely design the system like that?

If you tie a pot to control a gain in your design, that gain will be affected when you unplug the pot.
If the switch is used to change sources or presets, unplugging the switch will affect the source/preset.
There are ways around it. Use a BLU6 with Vol Up and Vol Down buttons for gain, and tie the switch to the control port \"with dead state\". (All is described in the help file)
However, I would personally much, much rather use a BLU8 or BLU10 ethernet controller since they are \"soft\". You can plug/unplug them without affecting any settings.
