Swapping a Soundweb 9088ii Unit

Hello!

I am having some trouble trying to find information on how to swap out a Soundweb 9088ii with a new unit. I am working with a 12 unit soundweb design. Lately I've been having network failure with individual units. I have been sending the units in one at a time for repair, however, this leaves part of my installation with no audio. I have just purchased a used unit that I would like to use as a spare in case I have another one of my original Soundwebs go down on me. However, I do not know how to replace the previous design on the unit with my installation's design. I've tried renaming the device but it still doesn't seem to work. Is it possible to reset the unit so that it is blank and then swap it in to my Soundweb design to replace any units that I need to send out for repair?

Renaming the replacement unit with the failed network unit name allows you to 'associate' the hardware with the network device.

You also need to make sure the network device matches the design hardware configuration (Mic and Line cards).

You will get a network message in the network window saying something like the network device has a mic card in inputs 1-4 and the design device is line inputs.

If you go to the main window where the device is, you can then right click the device and go to properties and change the hardware to match the network device.

Then go back online and reload the device.

It should all then work for you .
