9088 + 9088 expander -

trying to cut down on the amount of cable im humping around, im thinking bout running 8 lines of audio over CAT5 using the 9088 + 9088 expander-
I realise its not actually CAT5 protocol, but does use CAT5E cable-

couple of questions:

1) I assume the 9088 8in 8out lives at the desk end, put audio through it outputting on network- CAT5 to the expander- and output from that into the amplifiers? im using the 9088 as a processor to run 8 way monitor mix or equivilant

2) is there any obviously problems with latency? with what i propose to do?

3) The cat5E cable- is it pin to pin or a crossover cable? I propose to run it for 50 meters.

4) Im assuming that all the processing is done on the master unit and the expander mearly facilitates the cat5 - audio conversion?

thanks in advance

Soundweb latency is <3ms from any input to any output. It won't matter.

Use cable wired to the T568B standard.

The 9088 and the 9008 each have exactly the same DSP processing power.
