iPhone Remote Control

Currently working on a few custom projects, and one of the clients was wondering about the possibility of iPhone control.

I'm well aware that this would require a PC to be running all the time to act as an interface between the iPhone and the Soundweb, however was wondering if anyone had attempted it before ?

I'm quite happy to go off and experiment, but I'm a big fan of not re-inventing the wheel.... If anyone has attempted this before or has achieved something similar then I'd be interested to hear how you achieved it.

Cheers

Talk about using a sledgehammer to crack a nut, I was hoping for something a little more simple that doesn't involve buying in extra equipment.

I figured since the house in question already has a few computers running media stuff, and a wifi network is already in place, it'd be easy for the iPhone to interface with the PC over the network which in turn would control the soundweb.

Thanks for the links though, as ever trying to do it on a budget.

Look at using VNC or a similar application if you already have a computer on site.

You will need to size the page to suit the iphone so that you don't need to scroll around the page.

If i was doing it i would use system architect and just export the controls i wanted to a custom page. SA will also allow you to specify where the custom panel is launched.

I know this was used succesfully with designer in the past, and i use VNC when onsite for larger projects with multiple PC control with no issues.

    Cheers
