BLU link sync issue

Initially we had an issue when using fiber media converters (Transition Networks SGETF1013-110) to extend the BLU link buss, and was curious as to why the connection order had the effect it did. The issue was that a BLU160 would display a BLU link sync error depending on cable connection order. We could get the error to occur on either side, and even on both sides simultaneously. We used the supplied CAT5e cables, as well as a couple of our own. On the master side of the network, there are:
1 - BLU10
2 - BLU8's
2 - BLU160's
3 - BLUBOB's
They are connected with a Netgear FS108P POE switch and served DHCP by a Netgear RF router. On the other side of the fibers:
1 - BLU10
0 - BLU8's
1 - BLU160's
3 - BLUBOB's
They too are connected with a Netgear FS108P POE switch. In the end, the configuration that worked is as follows:
BLU160->BLUBOB->BLUBOB->BLUBOB->BLU160->FIBER->>>FIBER->BLU160->BLUBOB->BLUBOB->BLUBOB
We will be adding a BLU120, a BLUBOB, and 4 - BLU8's shortly and want to know if we could run into similar issues. Also, I seem to recall a conversation with BSS a while back about the BLU link jacks, and that it did not matter which jack your IN and OUT was connected to. Is this correct?

Is your question about BLU link or ethernet control? A Netgear switch, DHCP, and BLU-8 controllers have absolutely nothing to do with BLU link. What exactly are you asking?

My question/concern is with BLU link; the other information was included in an (unsuccessful) attempt to help fill in any blanks. Does, or rather should it matter what order you connect different BLU link devices?
