User GUI

Is there a way to give an end user access to a GUI over a web interface? I don't really want to confuse a client with Architect but a simple GUI tied to the IP of the hardware would work great. Is this something I would have to program in another language and translate to talk to London Architect? It would be great if I could export a \"Virtual Touchpanel\" that would reside in the BLU. Thanks for you help.

  • I don't think there is an htm to LA bridge, although it would be cool to have it.

Aurora Multimedia has a simple RS232 to Ethernet controller that serves simple control pages to a browser.

This would be the cheapest and simplest way of exposing some London controls to the network through a browser interface. But you would have to program the Aurora device before it would work.
I looked at it before but haven't had the right project for it yet.

I normally just end up with dedicated laptop or rack-mount computer that shows the pages laid out in London Architect. Considering that a netbook costs under 300 dollars it makes sense to load Architect on it and make it go full screen on boot up automatically.
The new convertible Dell looks really nice as a dedicated LA controller.
It's what I'm planning to use on my next install.

  • Aurora Multimedia is one of the coolest companies out there. I love their toys.

  • The convertible looks pretty sexy. I think I'll go with that and VNC into it if need be. I don't really want to have to install a control processor. How do you get LA to boot to having just the UI fullscreen on startup? Thanks for the info. I think this is going to do what I need.

  • Ceate a custom control panel with just the items you want. Set the application preferences to load the file from the network. Set the file preferences to full screen mode and go online automatically.
