London interface to house sync?

My video team is converting their equipment to digital and has asked me how we should connect my audio world to their master clock.

My system includes a Soundcraft Vi6 feeding 14 BSS London BLU-120 and 160 processors via AES3 that handle system processing and distribution. A few of the source decks are connected via AES3, and the outputs to video from the London are planned to be AES3, with analog available as well.

Also, the video recording rig will be portable, so I would need the ability to easily switch between having their clock and not having their clock.

I do not see facilities to make a clock connection to the equipment I have and would welcome input from the community on how others are doing this in their facilities.

Thanks for your input (and output).

Have fun,

Jeff

The digital input cards will automatically clock themselves to the incoming audio stream. If the clock of the incoming audio is locked to the clock of the Soundweb (48k or 96k), you can also bypass the input card's sample rate conversion.

The digital output cards will clock themselves to whatever you select on their control panel. That can be the DSPs internal clock, the clock of one of the other I/O cards, or the external clock inputs on the digital output card. When using an external clock, you have an independent clock input for each output pair and can select 75ohm or high impedance termination for those clock inputs.

Full details are available in the London Architect help file or in a PDF file at this link:

  • Thanks Dan,

    That was quite helpful. :D
