Triggering a timed gain with calendar

Trying to trigger a recurring ramp up and ramp down on a \"timed gain\". Can't seem to get a preset to set on the \"timed gain\" either. What am I doing wrong?

  • You're probably doing nothing wrong other than trying to watch a timed gain do something while offline. They don't work unless you're online to a DSP with the program loaded and running. In offline mode, they just sit there.

Actually I am on line to a BLU 80 in my office and I could'nt get a preset to work either wiith direct preset recall or calendar. I was in a hurry this afternoon so I'll try again tomorrow.

    Hey Dan,
What I'm trying to do is to schedule recurring \"ramp\" up and \"ramp\" down on a timed gain. I can get a gain to jump from level to level but how do I get the timed gain button to go hi to start the ramp at scheduled times?

    Much thanks, Carlos

To trigger the fade from a control panel, you click on the Fade button.

To trigger the fade with logic, you link the Fade button to a Logic End and then cause the Logic End to go high. It's your responsibility to make sure that the Logic End goes low again before the next time you want to trigger a fade.

To trigger the fade with a preset, add the Fade button to your parameter preset group, then right-click on the Fade button and hit Properties. In Properties, look in the Operation section for the Type property and change it to Timed. Look a little further down for the Timeout and set it to 1. Hold down the ALT key and click the Fade button to turn it ON and then save your parameter preset. Hold down the ALT key and turn the Fade button OFF.

Extra Credit: link the Fade button to a Logic End, set the Fade button type to Timed, make the Logic End go high, and watch what happens. I can think of several really funny applications for this. The simplest (and least evil) is a volume control that does a 5 minute crawl back to it's \"normal\" position no matter what level you set it to.

Just finished figuring out the Logic End solution when your response came. Awsome, I will try the other solutions as well.

    Thanks for your help.

If it were me, I'd use the logic method to do it because you can easily make the Fade button go back low again.
