Extending BLU-Link / Ethernet

Hello all,
I have an application in the works in which I would like to put a BLU-BIB approximately 1,000 ft away from a BLU-100. I know that CAT5e is good for about 325ft. Fiber can get expensive. I can terminate RJ45's in seconds.
Has anyone used any Ethernet extenders? I imagine they should work fine since they seem to be standards compliant. Check it out. I need to do two of them to get me to 1,000 ft, although two of them will do 2,000 ft.

In theory it could. It all depends on how it handles clocking of the signal.
In theory, devices conforming to ethernet standards end-to-end and through the link should keep things happy, correct?
Since the maximum Ethernet length of 100m is usually just per segment, all that you need in between is a switch, which I imagine reclocks/powers the signal. I wonder if these devices are just 2-port switches with PoE when you get down to it.
So, it pretty much boils down to:
Option A - buy it someplace with a return policy and give it a try
Option B - forget it and pull fiber

We are looking to use BLU's more in our production department. CAT5e is ideal since it is very cheap and we can pull it to length, cut and terminate for each application. For one particular application, we need to fly cable between telephone poles for an outdoor event. Sounds risky with fiber unless it were a hi-flex tactile grade cable.
Thanks for the input.
Can't imagine any budget problems with that.
