Getting Event Log over TCP

Hello,

is it possible to get the event log messages stored in the devices over ethernet?
In my installation is no Architect running, everything is controlled via AMX controllers and touchpanels. So i want to show the user the event log informations on his touchpanel, is this possible?

thank you

While it would be possible to get the eventlog data off the device via TCP, that data would be useless. To keep the amount of data each event uses down to a minimum, the event log data is encoded, and all the intelligence to decode is handled in London Architect.

    Thanks for your answer.

But is there really no way to find out 1. the command to get the logs out of the device and 2. the type of encoding? The intelligence of decoding could be handled in the AMX system controller if the encoding type is known.

If BSS Audio were to publish the event log structure and data, it would then be necessary for engineering to maintain that published data and update it with any additions or changes. That would also eliminate the option for completely replacing it if needed because replacing it would break your AMX code.

For example, what if there were some new hardware or software advance made by BSS Audio or one of the other Harman companies which would increase system reliability, or speed up the event log process, or create some other benefit, but would require a fundamental change in the way the event logs are communicated? Right now, engineering could just change the way the devices report the events, change the way that London Architect reads the events, and then release new software and firmware. In fact, that could have already happened a dozen times since Soundweb London was first released, and the end users would never notice the change other than seeing an improvement in performance. That flexibility would be lost if the event log data were published and in use by third party developers.

So, your request would handicap future development to provide a functionality that is effectively never requested. That doesn't mean that it will never happen, but in addition to creating a loss of flexibility for development, there are hundreds of outstanding feature requests that effect far more users and projects than this one so it's not very likely to happen.
