PRoblem with \"Linked\" Control on 9010??

I'm trying to put the Bypass control from a leveller onto a 9010 Button but when running simulate it says:
\"One of the controls on page 'Leveller' could not be created as it conflicts with an existing control...\"
IS the problem that I have linked the bypass control of TWO levellers (for a stereo unit).
OR Is the problem that the leveller (& it's linked partner) are from a macro?
Any advice appreciated.
