Preset recall event order

I'm using a BLU-100 as a front end for a small PA system, there is a main input at FOH, Aux input on stage and an iPod input with presets to switch inputs and settings accordingly. We want the level of the Aux input to default to -100 or so on the preset recall so there are no surprises when the inputs come up on the PA. All very simple.

The problem is that when the Stage Aux preset is recalled, the BLU switches inputs immediately but 2-3 seconds pass before the level drops to the position stored in the preset. The same thing happens with the iPod input.

In an earlier post Dan explained:
\"When you trigger a parameter preset, you're triggering an event. That event causes a bunch of state variables to be set to specific levels.\"

Is there a way to see the order in which the variables are set? Has anyone else run in to this?

  • The way to control the order is to use a Venue Preset. A venue preset can trigger multiple Parameter Presets and it will trigger them in the order in which the were created. Create a parameter preset that changes your volume, and then create one that changes sources. Put them both in a venue preset and the venue preset will always do them in the same order.
