Graphic fader controlled parameter

How do you associate a graphic eq filter with a graphic fader on a custom control panel. I need to create a custom graphic eq where I can set the maximum boost to 3dB.

    drag the desired graphic eq parameter from the design tree onto a graphic fader on a custom control panel. Then go to that fader's properties, and setup a subrange.

    NOTE: if you use anything other than that custom control panel (e.g. potentiometer, BLU-8, BLU-10, 3rd-party controller) to control that fader, it will defeat the subrange.
