Issue opening a file from within London Architect

I have a rather unusual problem which I'm hoping someone can shed some lite on.

If I open London Architect, V3.08.R3, select File/Open and navigate to any London Architect file and select it to open it, nothing happens - that is, the file does not get loaded into the London Architect app.

However, if I shut London Architect, find the Architect file using \"explorer\", and open it from here, the application starts and the file loads correctly.

I'm using a HP laptop with Windows 7 Home professional 64 bit, with all the latest windows updates.

Any advice would be appreciated.

    Never thought I'd be answering my own question and while I never got to the bottom of the problem, an upgrade to the latest version got me out of trouble!

    Nice surprise about this shorter form. Can you tell us what it is you are talking/writing about?
    Has any info. about this shorter form been posted before (and i just missed it)?
