LA v4.00 Changes

Hi all,

Just downloaded and installed LA v4.0. The changes listed are:


* AVB functionality added to HiQnet London Architect.
* New BSS BLU805 and BLU325 AVB devices supported.
* Get current values on subscribe file preference added. When enabled HiQnet London Architect gets the current values of all parameters in the device when going online and subscribing

Can someone elaborate on what that \"Get Current Values On Subscribe\" option is and how it is different from receiving values when going online as before?

Is the major version number increment only for the new BLUs and AVB? Seems like a big step!

When you go online to a device there are three stages: (1) it send the Config, (2) starts the Config then (3) LA subscribes (gets values on a change)
In a very very small number of cases, it was found that some parameters could get out of sync in the very short time between starting the Config and subscribing.
So this feature changes the subscribing mechanism whereupon it subscribes but also gets the current values. (get value now and on a change). This means that the parameter values are synchronised at the very last stage of going online.

Basically, it prevents parameters being out of sync with LA because it gets the parameter values when it subscribes. Before, it didn't do this.

All new Design Files will have this feature enabled by default in the File Preferences. The feature will not be enabled on old Deisgn Files which are upgraded.

AVB is a pretty major new feature so we thought we'd mark that with a nice round version number.
