Linking a Logic end to a Source Selector

I've tried in vein to link a logic end to a source selector. I've followed the Step by step instructions in the help file, but LA still will not let me link a logic end to a source selector.

Can someone enlighten me with some steps that the help file maybe missing (Or I am failing to understand)?

Thanks

  • Ill expand on the info above.

I have 12input source selector that I want to link to logic end so I can individually trigger the 12 sources.

how many inputs do I need on the logic end to satisify the equation. 2^no of inputs +1 ? (As found in the Help file for logic ends)

  • Hi

The Logic Ends only work as output devices so you can't use them to \"trigger\" something. You can assign a source selector to a logic value, and then use that to trigger something downstream when a particular source is selected, i.e. recall a preset for a particular style of music, and then attach a logic end to light an LED or something off a Logic Out port.
To trigger a source you could use a Logic Source connected to a preset trigger - then drag the Logic Source button to a Logic Input port.

Thanks Richard, you can actually use a logic end to select an input source on a source selector. I just got it working. The binary Thing was confussing me, . Quote from the help file:
\"When linking a logic end to a source selector, the \"Allow None\" state of the source selector must always be set to \"Yes\". The binary value of the number of inputs to the Logic End (i.e. 2^no. of inputs) must match the number of inputs to the source selector, plus one. Thus, an 8-input source selector cannot be connected to a 3-input logic end, but a 7-input source selector with \"Allow None\" set to \"Yes\" can. Similarly, a 6-input source selector cannot be linked to a 3-input logic end. Care must be taken when changing the number of inputs to a source selector or logic end after creating a link, ensuring that the system still functions as expected
