cobranet bundels

hello
we want to add to our bss family a blu 320 and a blu 160. Our mission is to capture audio from our Bss system to 4 different Pc's in order to use it for different tasks with different applications.
For this we will add 4 pci-e audio cards with cobranet ASI5308 (http://www.audioscience.com/internet/products/sound_cards/asi53xx_6316.htm)
The idea is to recieve on the 4 computers simultaniously 4 different bundels of 8 channels each (each card recive one bundle with 8 channels) from the blu-320.
One of the cards will also transmit one bundle to the 320 (this audio is going to bss system from one application that playback some audio files).

in total - 3 cards recive 3 bundels of 8 channels from the 320 and one card recive one bundle and transmit one bundel simultaniously to the 320.
5 diffrent bundels in total. all bundels in unicast mode thru switch.
Will it work for us?

Another question is about cards configurations in the blu-160. Do we need to order it full with 4 cards, or we can order it only with one card and to add the other 3 later by ourself. Cause right now we need only one hybrid card to do some tests. If it will work we will add another 3 hybrid cards later.

Hope it is not too long, sorry

Thank's alot

  • Hey yonatan,
Firstly, you can order the BLU-160 with just a single card no problem, then add other cards later.

Your CobraNet scheme sounds fine to me- though you will need to ensure you match the card settings with the BLU-320 settings in relation to CobraNet latency, sample rate and bit depth.
Once that's done all should work fine.
