high pitched whine - Blu 16

We have a blu 16 as the main control in our sound system. The system has a high frequency whine. Basic configuration is 2 analog input modules with 5 inputs. 4 inputs go to an automixer. 1 input directly to a matrix mixer as well as the output of automixer. There are assorted high and low pass filters in the system. Output of matrix goes to n channel gain module and then to the output cards via filters. Muting all inputs does not make it go away. Disconnecting all of the cross points in the matrix mixer does not make it go away. Muting the N channel gain module (all 8 channels) which is right after the matrix mixer stops it.
I have run out of bright ideas and would appreciate any suggestions as to where to look next. System has been in service for about 5 years. It did this once before, but of course I do not remember what I did to it the last time. Other then the whine the system appears to be working correctly.
