HiQ net IOS wireless network connectivity

We have a wireless network that is controlled by a Cisco AP using WPA2 enterprise and are having issues with the iPad seeing the controller. Both devices exist on the same subnet. Has anyone had any similar issues? Are there certain protocols that need to be enabled? I tried turning on multi-casting with the same result.

Is the iPad running iOS 6?
There is an issue with iPad acknowledging the network on a private network. From what I have figured out, with the upgrade to iOS 6, the iPad is looking for a webpage from apple's website (http://www.apple.com/library/test/success.html). When it see's that page, it then acknowledges connectivity to the network and displays the wifi icon in the status bar.

I found a post on Apple's community forums talking about how Apple doesn't recommend upgrading to iOS6 on a private network. I am trying to get confirmation from Apple engineers on this.

I have found some applications that work regardless of this issue and others that don't. Sorry it's not a solution, but I recommend opening up a ticket with Apple. Be clear to mention this is a private network and not connected to the internet if that is truly the case.
