problems with Bss BLU 8 remotes!...Please help

Hello

I wondered if anybody could help.

I look after a Venue with Multiple Bss Blu products in place.

The venue has 3 floors with 8 rooms and 8 BLU-8 remotes, one for each room.

The venue has operated with no issues with remotes for 12 months until recently.

I installed version 4.00 of Bss London architect on my P.C and had to connect to the devices for some system re-tune work we were doing at the venue.

Before i could connect to the devices i was forced to upgrade the firmware on all devices and ever since i have had an issue with remotes dropping sync with becoming non operational.

The problem is not with the same remote and seems to be moving around the venue.

When i connect my laptop to the devices when a remote is not operational i can see the non operational remote on the network and it is highlighted with the green star.

The only way i have been able to temporarily fix the issue is by removing the remote from the wall and un/re plugging the cat 5 from the back of the remote and it comes back to life but the issue is not permanently fixed.

As far as i am aware no IP addresses have been changed and all ths bss is on its own network switch.

The BLU-8 Remotes are the original remotes Not the V2.

Is there a known problem that causes the older version of the remotes to drop out with the updated firmware and software?
If not could you please recommend any ideas to help trouble shoot or fix this problem.

any help would be really appreciated

I think the older version doesn't match with the new updated software.
  • That is incorrect. London Architect includes seperate firmware for the BLU-8 and BLU-8v2.

I know of no fix and I had some installs with the same problem.
The original Blu-8's lose subscriptions to controls. It's the reason for V2.
See if you can revert the firmware and software version to the same old one that worked well for you. Then retune the space with that software version.
Downgrading firmware is a two step process if I remember correctly. Call your tech support and hopefully they can walk you through it.
