5v amp indicator line into control input?

I am trying to integrate the control port inputs to be programed as status indicators or my ATC P4 amplifiers to show \"standby\" or \"protect\" etc. The amps have a \"remote\" port which sends a signal during the appropriate 'status' on a dedicated pin. Problem is, it sends a 5v, not a circuit closure. Is it possible to wire the 5v outputs from the amp to the control inputs? Or, can they only be wired to relays and potentiometers?

Thanks

The easiest would be, that you take a 5v relay and wire the coil to your amp-port. then you get the closure contact, that you can wire to the soundweb control port.
Or... you could switch soundweb to 3 wire mode (meaning that the internal pull-up resistors are deactivated) and then wire the 5V of your amp to a 4.7k resistor going to the soundweb control port. make sure, that you have the 0v side connected to the ground port. then I would add a 10k resistor between the control port and ground in order to have a clear ref when the 5v fall off.
But as you can see, the relay seems more simple...
