Auto Power Off

I have a London BLU-160 in a football stadium. The system is powered up by the end user. The use the system, and they never turn it off. All the Amplifies are turn on and off from the press box using Mid Atlantic Power Sequencers. I am looking for a way to Auto Power off a sound system after its been idle a number off hours. Has anyone else done this?

  • While I haven't done it, it should be entirely possible with a little logic and a couple external pieces. First, you will need to have the Middle Atlantic stuff controlled by London. You will most likely need an RDL LCR piece (Logic Controlled Relay) to convert the BSS logic outputs into closed contact outputs to drive the MA stuf. The logic aspect may require a little experimentation but the max hold time per logic block is just under an hour, so if you want longer you may need to cascade some. Essentially, the logic would trigger the system on with a keyswitch edge OR an audio input and stay on for about an hour, with the audio input continually re-triggering the hour hold time...until the music stops.
