Measuring External Temps

I am looking for ideas on the best way to get external temps into Soundweb London. Would it be best to get a temp sensor that dumped data onto the network and have a BLU extract it? or is there a direct to GPI temp solution? Exact temp values really aren't needed but would be excepted. Exceeding a set threshold would be acceptable. Thanks

  • FYI... A BLU device cannot interpret or parse any incomming message. It will only acknowledge a valid HiQnet or DI message.
  • If all that you need is a simple way to know when the external temperature exceeds/goes below a particular amount, you could get an industrial temperature sensor with a programmable NC/NO contact. Connect this to the GPI on any London and have that state change activate whatever you like via logic.

A German company called TECSYS manufacture just such a device- a TC400.

No doubt there are many others available too.
