Dynamic EQ or multiband compressor

Hi

I have an installation where I would like to adjust the EQ settings going to the HF output in the PA system.
I would like to inset a attenuation around2-4K when they play really loud (and they do!) as the HF gets rally harsh at extreme volumes.

Any ideas?
I have read but not tried this example: http://www.bssaudio.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=549

Not sure if this is the best way but perhaps try creating a duplicate of the signal - one half goes through an EQ / crossover removing frequencies in your range (band reject). The second path passes through an EQ / crossover doing a band pass in the same frequency range. This output feeds a compressor before being joined (summer) with the other signal.
