Attempting to move all my venue's software over from old PC's to a new Mac Mini and the only real issue is Soundweb. How stable is it running in XP via Parallels? I have 3 units connected via one USB to serial dongle.

I've been using Soundweb Designer with Windows XP on Parallels on my Macs for quite some time now, and it works perfectly, but with XP now being unsupported, I thought it might be a good idea to upgrade to Windows 7 on those Macs.
So I purchased Windows 7 and installed it as a separate virtual machine on one of my Macs. Then I downloaded and installed the Windows 7 version of Soundweb Designer.
And I heard that my ATEN and PROLIFIC usb to serial adapters would no longer work correctly with Windows 7, so I got a couple of usb adapters with the FTDI chipset.
Unfortunately, I'm not having any success connecting to my Soundwebs with this setup. Windows sees the adapters, I set them for 115200 speed, and when I attempt to go online, Soundweb Designer searches and searches but doesn't find any units, and then it hangs. The only way out of the hang appears to be ctl-alt-delete. I've tried this with many different configurations, but I'm not having any luck.
Meanwhile, Windows 7 on my Dell laptop works just fine with Soundweb Designer and since it has a built-in DB9 serial port, connecting is usually done without an adapter. But I'm pretty sure my ATEN and PROLIFIC adapters work fine with it, as well.
And on my Mac with Parallels running Windows 7, my Shure DFR22 that also connects via RS232 serial connects and runs just fine with either my ATEN or PROLIFIC usb adapters.
Anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong?
Or what I might try, to get Windows 7 on a Mac running Parallels (v9) working with my green Soundwebs???
Thanks ever so much!!
Best regards,
