In december of 2009 I wrote a post about fixing up a non-starting 9088ii unit. At the time, I had a fully working 9088 unit too.
Until last week or so, these have been working flawlessly, being powered on more or less 24/7 since (although with modified fans, a silent 120mm fan instead of the whiny ~40mm original thing).
This week however, the 9088 unit begun buzzing a lot. After opening it up, i noticed it was from the PSU part.. So I gave it the same procedure, switching 470uF, 10uF and the 1000uF caps in the PSU part. And now it's rocking again!
Thanks for solid work! Let's hope I get another 5 years of happy usage
(The original topic was locked, otherwise I'd have replied there. Just wanted to express my happiness with these unit!)
