Matrix decoding possible?

Hi,
I am trying to extract a center channel signal from a stereo signal.
There is a simple way of doing this (See Dolby Surround: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matrix_decoder#Dolby_Stereo_and_Dolby_Surround_.28matrix_4:2:4.29).
It is easy in the BSS to do a summation of the left/right speaker and create the center channel. But that would result in poor seperation which with Dolby Surround is handled with a logic: The logic circuitry decides which speaker channel has the highest signal level and gives it priority, attenuating the signals fed to the adjacent channels.
Would this be possible to do with a BSS Soundweb unit?
