GAIN STAGING

Hello all. I just upgraded from a JBL DSC-260 to a 4800 and am trying to figure out how to set my gain structure. I have the input figured out but am having trouble matching the output gain to my amps. For the time being I am driving one TI-4000 and two MA-2402's analog. I am running it the hard way at the moment (front pannel vs. laptop)
The Macro tech inputs are still set at the factory default of 0.775V sensitivity.
Hopefully I will have a laptop and the PIP modules for the MA's within the next few months. At which time I will probably be here again. As I am new to the digital domain, any suggestions on which PIP modules would be best suited for the MA-2402's with System Architecht?
I am a small time one man operation and prefer to run the amps full cw to prevent event organizers from increasing power when I'm not looking.
Am I reading into the process too much or do I just need to run the system and try different output clip levels untill the amps are at the onset of clipping?
Any assistance / suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Roland

If you dime the amps you would probably want to set the outputs of the 4800 to 4dBU in the Utilities \" Gains and Trims\" page. You may then have to adjust the output trims as well. For more info on gain structure check out these links.

Sorry, not sure about the PIP modules.
