Drive Rack PA

AMP-For tops (1) QSC RMX 5050

AMP-For subs (1) QSC RMX 5050

Tops (2) EV QRX115's

Would I be better of getting separate units from dbx, a crossover, 31 band dual eq and compressor/limiter as a DJ where I may need on the go adjustments of the setup?

    Ok,
Lets take shot at this.. Second post first. I have NEVER heard separates that even come close to sounding like the Driverack, so no.

Gawd, hope you have good power available. Those amps suck some juice! remember if the power to the DRPA goes down it will maks a hellacious racket! do yourself a favor and get an UPS. Doesn't have to be big, just something to get you past the amps shutdown time.

I'd start with thr wizard, select stereo, not dual mono. full range tops, mono subs, all custom, and custom amps this is then a 2x3 (2 in 3 out) you will use regular xlr cables to connect the mixer to the inputs of the DRPA. Use the Hi, outs to the top amp in stereo, and the lo mono out to the sub amp. if the speakers are 4 ohm each, use parallel mono, if the speakers are 8 ohm you can use either parallell mono, or bridged mono. Bridged gives a bit more power but requires more power from the edison.

Once you have that set up store it to a preset location and name it so you can identify it. The crossover point I would start with is 100hz. set an HPF of 40 hz, BW 18 with an LPF of 100 hz @ LR 24. For the tops set an HPF of 100 hz LR 24. Now this is off the top of my head, and if you go to the EV site they will probably have some settings you can use there. The propagation delay of the LR 24 filter is 7.5 milliseconds on the subs so delay the tops 7-10 ms.
