chksum err on dbx quantum

Just bought a new (old stock) dbx quantum. When I power it up the display reads chksum err. Tried hard boot, no luck. Unit not responsive at all. Any ideas? Anyone encounter something similar in past?

Does your unit have version 1.5 software? if not go here and download it for your unit:
