DR260 Newbie PA hookup/configuration issues

velopopvelopop Posts: 3
Greetings-

I recently purchased the DR260 and two JBL MRX525 mains. I have connected outputs 1 & 2 of the 260 to a Mackie 1400 FR Amp, then those outputs to the 525's.

Outputs 3 & 4 of the DR260 go to a Mackie 2600 FR amp and those outs to a pair of 18\" JBL Subs (Homemade)

Problem: When a signal passes through a mic channel of the mixer (A&H Mixwizard) I only get highs out of the left side and panning right I get nothing but signal going to the subs.

Obviously, I have hooked up something incorrectly, or loaded the wrong patch in the setup wizard. But what? Which patch should I use for this particular setup? I followed what I thought was the proper hookup as per the manual, and followed the instructions verbatim 3-4 times, but achieved only the same result. I have double and triple checked the wiring hookups, they are correct.

Is there a step-by-step tutorial available for a simple L-R stereo hookup such as this? Or can someone please state the obvious errors I have made? I am somewhat new to PA work and would sincerely appreciate some expert guidance.

Thanks for your time.

    We also need to know:
    what preset you used...
what type of cabinets the subs are and what driver...
application, what the system will be doing...

you can enter the configuration mode with a press of the config button.. and see what routing the 260 uses, you can also change it there...

Most logical here would be a 2x3 or 2x4 but subs run bridged mono may give you your best power and bass output.

Did you run through the driverack training modules? upper right corner..

Did you read the welcome FAQ ... In that I run through a basic setup, and gain structure of just such a setup as yours...

  • Thank you for your replies and suggestions.

Yes, I did read the FAQ's and pertinent forums/tutorials. That's why this was so baffling to me. I have, in the meantime, figured out what the problem was. It was in on my end, in the amplifier settings. I re-ran the setup Wizard, and everything seems to working fine now. What a nice piece of gear the 260 is!

Funny how one can waste hours and/or days learning how to operate new gear and totally embarrass oneself asking dumb questions.

    Thank you both again.
