Who's a SMAART guy?

AJayAJay Posts: 28
I got the trial version of SMAART version 6 for some speaker measuring and tuning that I've been requested to do. I'm having some problems with the impulse response test.

It seems to me that the way it would work is that when the test starts, it would send out an impulse to the speakers, sort of like a clap, and then record in the response. Well, when I attempt this, i hear nothing coming through the speakers. If i turn on the signal generator to Pink, i hear that coming through, and can see it on the graph.

Also, in what I believe is a related problem, the delay test just seems to come back with whatever random number it wants to.

    Hello Ajay,

Stupid question: Are you certain that these functions work in the demo version?...

Also,...the resident SMAART guy is DBX user / member \"Mikey\"... If he sees this post he will probably chime in but he only stops by every now and then... He might reply if you send him a PM...

Or better yet, why not go the the SIA sight and seek out the FAQ's and ask your questions there? The learning curve is HUGE for SMAART.. and according to Mikey they RUINED SMAART with the latest version...

Sounds like you don't have the output of Smaart set to the output of your sound device. You could also have the two switched-the in and out.

Could you please tell me about your setup?

BTW, version 6 is a dog. Lots of features not implemented and many not working. Are you using it on a Mac or under Windoze?

Give me a little info and we'll have you up and running in no time.

    Mikey
