Settings changing by themselves

TimtoesTimtoes Posts: 5
DriveRackPA: Installed in a club, locked up/no access by anyone except me. This unit worked great for almost 2 years and now it changes it's settings all by itself--or seemingly so--every few days. It's supposed to be set for stereo/2 way and I've found it usually set for 2 way on the left channel and 3 way on the right channel (with no mid amp it's a little thin), levels all off and limiter settings way up. Not good. Surprisingly, no speaker damage.
This club has had a lot of electrical power problems lately--main breakers tripping, surges from lightning strikes--and I suspect this might have damaged the unit, although it is on a good quality power conditioner (but not ups). Anyone else had these sorts of instability problems?
btw, it also had the notorious loss of display due to loose ribbon cable syndrome (even though it's not portable), but that was easily remedied, at least temporarily. Could that have affected the settings?

I would say it's your power problems.. If you haven't yet installed a UPS, you need to, should read \"shame on you if you haven't\"...The software program has most likely become corrupt... and the only solution is a HARD reset, as per the manual...This will ERASE your user modified programs so make sure you check each module and write down the settings that were modified before you do the reset...If you are using a factory preset and have not modified any of them ... no problem...
    good luck

  • Thanks. I think you're right about everything except the shame. Since I never had to go to this forum before, and there is no mention of a ups in the manufacturer's manual, I plead justifiable ignorance. The ups is going in tomorrow. Hard reset already done.
btw, is there actually a CR2032 battery in there like the manual says 'cause I can't find it?
