Large Gym... REVERB

Hello Forum, new poster here.
This question has to do with Reverb problems in a large gym. I will be doing a old school party on Dec 1st. It will be in the gym so I can expect a reverb issue. I brought the DRPA two years ago and this is its first use. I will keep the 2ways on top of the subs to help keep the sound from bouncing from the walls. While I will surely read the user manual, are there any quick tips or setting from experienced users?
Speaker Alignment Delay?? Is this the same as Reverb??
My system is a mobile DJ setup:

2 JBL EON 15 two way (1st gen)
2 JBL EONSUB G2
1 QSC PLX 3002
1 Sonic Max 882i
1 Pioneer 3000 mixer
1 Numark D2
1 DBX Driverack with RTA-Mic

Am sure this question has been asked before, I do apologize in advance.

Thanks
EBNY

2 YEARS? Just starting to use it NOW? Thats sad :( You could have enjoyed a far better system with the DR...

No, It's not the same thing, its slapback delay/reflected energy in a reverberant space. The key here is to get the sound ON the audience and off the floors and walls. I used to hang the speakers from the basket ball hoops, when I used 4 and angled them down to the crowd. Also get the system as flat as possible (see the Welcome READ ME FIRST posts...) so as to not excite the room any more than necessary.

As for a crossover point, try 100 hz LR 24 you don't have enough delay with the DRPA to make any real difference...

Those are the main things, that and don't exceed the rooms point of no return, but with that small system that shouldn't be a problem...

  • Thanks for the speedy respond, this forum is awesome.
If hanging the speakers is an option, I’ll try it.
    Thanks again
