Newb Questions

zeusijzeusij Posts: 4
Hey guys. I have been reading up on this dbx DriveRack, but am confused a little.

Is the dbx DriveRack PA designed specifically for jbl/crown systems... to tweak those certain systems to get the most out of them?

or; is it for any mitch matched P.A. equipment to be modeled to sound like these best setups?

Thanks,

Ryan

    hi zeusij
    Your question
Is the dbx DriveRack PA designed specifically for jbl/crown systems
    No
The DriveRack® PA was designed with the purpose and vision of providing state-of-the-art signal processing for all sound systems.

    It does contain a
Program List / Speaker Tunings / Power Amp Tunings
    for jbl/crown etc.
These setting, as I see it, are a \"marketing tool\"
The DRPA can be used with any product. And is not for use with \"only\" the advertised products..

I, in fact, don't own any of these products

Fanman is 100% right. What better way for a Harmon company (DBX) to sell a Harmon company speaker (JBL) than to offer plug and play. Then for the best amp configuration, recommend a Harmon company amp (Crown). Or, if you have Crown's and JBL's, now all you need in a DRPA, because it has \"your\" settings in there.

phew I was getting worried there for a second. I bought one and then saw all the preset settings for those units. So i guess for all the equipment options I shall be entering custom. and let the learning curb begin :P

    thanks fanman and dra :)

    Yep
    just add custom
and let the learning curb begin

Have you downloaded the DriveRack PA

The thing is, JBL is a Harmon product, as is DBX. It's often difficult to get speaker tunings from the different speaker manufacturers, especially those that feel that DBX has a sister company that manufacturers speakers...I'll drop my rhetoric there...

    What \"equipment\" do you have?

    The equipment I am using:

Mixer: Mackie 16 channel mixer (CR1604-VLZ)
(no info online, but I could get it if for some reason you wanted it)
    4 Passive Carvin 1584 Speakers (400w each)

    1 Carvin DCM1500 Power Amp (1500w)
